Kaylyn Farneth is a Pittsburgh based theatre, commercial, and film actress, singer and student. Growing up with a mother heavily involved in community theatre, Kaylyn became engrossed in the theatre world making her stage debut in New Kensington Civic Theatre production of Charlotte's Web. Kaylyn was more than thrilled to be sharing the stage with her mother and older brother, Austin. As years past, Kaylyn continued to work with several community theatre projects both on and off of the stage. While attending Valley High School, Kaylyn starred in The Wizard of Oz as Glinda, and Gertrude in Seussical. Kaylyn took her acting passion to lead her Mock Trial team to the regional finals 4 years in a row, winning numerous Best Witness and Best Advocate awards. During her senior year, Kaylyn attended the University of Pittsburgh High School Mock Trial competition where she scored a perfect ballot to win the tournament's Best Advocate award. Kaylyn also received the Westmoreland County Cultural Trust, Achievement in The Arts award for Theatre.
Kaylyn is a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh, where she received her B.A. as a double major in Theatre Arts and Communication and her Master's of Art in Teaching. At Pitt, Kaylyn has performed as Nell Gwynn in Compleat Female Stage Beauty where she earned an Irene Ryan Award Nomination and Alisha in The Winged Man. Kaylyn also had the opportunity to study abroad in London, England and intern with Chickenshed Theatre and School with a primary focus in the wardrobe department. Once returning back to Pittsburgh, Kaylyn joined The Talent Group as an agency intern in order to expand her knowledge of film work. As a college student Kaylyn has also made appearances at the Penn State Forum Theatre starring as Texas in Cabaret and Into The Woods as The Witch. Some of her other favorite roles include: Go To Hell Kitty in Chicago, originating the role Tada Girl in Heart of Steel with The Mystic Knights, originating the role of Alison in the short film Projection and a Player in The Theatre Factory's production of Pippin. Other roles include: Salyer in Last of the Boys, Shelby in Steel Magnolias, Fritzie in Cabaret, Lou Ann in Hairspray, and Kaliope in She Kills Monsters. Kaylyn has also participated in the international SWAN Day festival empowering women's creativity and talent.
Kaylyn spent her first two years at Pitt participating on the Mock Trial A team and vice president, where she gained multiple Best Witness and Best Advocate awards at invitationals at Colgate University, University of Pittsburgh, and Penn State University. During her sophomore year, Kaylyn was thrilled to celebrate an invitation to the Opening Round Championship tournament. She was active in her service sorority, Gamma Sigma Sigma, where she routinely volunteered at Shady Side Boys and Girls club, fundraising for Alex's Lemonade Stand, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, Relay for Life, March of Dimes, and MADD.
Kaylyn would like to give extra special thanks to her parents, Pam and Rick Farneth, her two brothers, Austin and Brandon, and beautiful daughter, Payton, for all of their endless love and support of her dreams; "I would not be where I am without them, they are my number one fans, and the absolute greatest support system in the world.
