Unlike the traditional Pippin you may recognize with colorful Cirque De Soleil costumes and sets filled with magical tricks, our story takes on a modern day persona. While staying true to the original story, we have transformed Pippin into a show about a group of friends who are performing their show in a run down city park. For me Pippin in this setting tells the story about today's technology driven generation. People who are consumed by 15 minutes of fame, obsessed with social media, and those who will do anything for a "like." But the question for Pippin still remains; do you find happiness in your own life, or get killed while pretending to be someone else?
After a long break hiatus from the stage, I am thrilled to be performing again. You can find me bringing magic to the stage at The Theatre Factory next month in PIPPIN. Unique to this performance, you will find the actors in contemporary clothing with updated references while still staying true to the original script and Fosse dance style. I am so thrilled to share the stage with incredible talent that includes my little brother!! It's a show you don't want to miss!!
I'm getting so excited for this show! After seeing a preview of my ugly witch mask, my character is growing so much! I've attached two photos to give you a small preview of what my character will look like! I can't wait to start using the mask in my rehearsals, and even more excited to see my costumes! Happy St. Patricks Day, Happy Pi Day, and most importantly Happy SWAN Day. SWAN Day is an international holiday designed to showcase the power of women. Today kicks off Pittsburgh's SWAN Day festival at The Twentieth Century Club with an amazing list of talented actors, singers, dancers, and artists. Please come support myself, and the rest of the talented bunch as we take on pieces supported by the theme “Everyone has an untold story hidden behind closed doors. Try to understand that people are not always as they first seem.” Hope to see you all there!!
Super excited for another theatre announcement! I have been selected to perform in Pittsburgh's 2015 SWAN Day arts festival. SWAN Day or Support Women Artists Now Day is an international holiday to showcase and support women's diversity and creative powers. While the offical international day is March 28, Pittsburgh will be celebrating on March 14 with a list of one acts written by some deliciously talented women! In honor of the 8th International SWAN Day, please some show your support for not only myself as an actor, but these terrific women! To learn more, please visit, http://www.womenarts.org/swan/ .
